Hi from Glenwood Springs, Colorado! I am on vacation this week with my family, with my co-author Zoë Rom's wedding on Saturday! Speaking of Zoë, last year she launched a new podcast with another friend, dietitian Kylee Van Horn, called Your Diet Sucks. It is one of my absolute favorite podcasts (and Instagram follows, actually, really hilarious and fun content; you will see why I love Zoë so much!) The podcast itself breaks down all the fads, trends, and things we hear about how to eat, fuel, and take care of our bodies, but mostly, it is a healing tool (that is really, really funny!) to untangle your relationship with food. I highly recommend a listen; you can find it on Spotify here and iTunes here. I'll keep this short, BUT, the sections below are longer than usual as I created a lot of impactful content that I am really proud of while I was in Chicago for the Bank of America Chicago 13.1 last weekend, and some of it is going to inspire you in a way that reminds you there is good in the world. This is the view out my window, so beautiful: I'm gonna go enjoy. There isn't a much better noise than the sound of rushing water. I drove through Forest Park in St. Louis last week, and it was devastating to see the trees down. I heard that 30% of the trees in that park (there were 47,000) are down or severely damaged. If you have any ability to donate to Forest Park Forever to help them heal the park, that would be appreciated.
If that feels too impersonal, our goal at Racing For Sustainability is to do our part to get the running world to prioritize sustainability and climate. You can support us to help us build towards our goal of creating a place where runners can find sustainable races near them.
Things I shared on my social media over the last few days:
“Nature and truth are one, and immutable, and inseparable as beauty and love.” ― Anna Brownell Jameson Thanks to our partner, AG1You better believe my AG1 is here with me on this trip! I love that the travel packs are in a much more convenient package now (the squares were not my fave!). AG1ʼs Next Gen is now one of the most clinically backed greens powders. They went above & beyond the industry standard in testing, and have made a great product even better! I have been enjoying my AG1 for almost six years now, and I truly can't imagine my life without it. Especially in periods like this when I am traveling, it fills in the nutrient gaps, so no matter what I eat, I know I am taking care of my body. If you use my link, you’ll also get a FREE bottle of AG D3K2, an AG1 Welcome Kit, AND 5 of the upgraded AG1 travel packs with your first order.

Hi, from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I am on my way back to the US after 11 days in the UK visiting family and friends. From here, the girls and I travel to our new home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. That word, "home." I have always wished there were more words to explore and elaborate on it. Home to me has always been and will always be England, St Albans and my childhood home more specifically. Home will always be when I am with my family: Steve and the girls. A non-place place, a...
A very teary hello from the airport. This morning I left St Louis, ugly crying my way to the airport as I thought about the life I was leaving behind there. Of course the people, its always about the people, but it was also the place. The first few years I lived there, when I would travel, and people would ask me where I lived, I would say, "St Louis", to which they would raise an eyebrow (much like this emoji 🤨 ), and I would feel deeply uncomfortable. I would say something like, "yeah, I...
In case you were wondering, packing still isn't fun. I mean there is a small (teeny) part of me that enjoys going through our material items, doing some version of the Marie Kondo method, not so much does it "spark joy," but has it served its purpose, or am I holding onto it because I feel I should. I do feel Marie Kondo sparked (no pun intended) a wave of consumerism in many ways, as it was, essentially, that when you feel your decor, furniture, paint color, or anything else, no longer...
