I'm keeping this short today because...

Hi from Glenwood Springs, Colorado!

I am on vacation this week with my family, with my co-author Zoë Rom's wedding on Saturday!

Speaking of Zoë, last year she launched a new podcast with another friend, dietitian Kylee Van Horn, called Your Diet Sucks. It is one of my absolute favorite podcasts (and Instagram follows, actually, really hilarious and fun content; you will see why I love Zoë so much!)

The podcast itself breaks down all the fads, trends, and things we hear about how to eat, fuel, and take care of our bodies, but mostly, it is a healing tool (that is really, really funny!) to untangle your relationship with food. I highly recommend a listen; you can find it on Spotify here and iTunes here.

I'll keep this short, BUT, the sections below are longer than usual as I created a lot of impactful content that I am really proud of while I was in Chicago for the Bank of America Chicago 13.1 last weekend, and some of it is going to inspire you in a way that reminds you there is good in the world.

This is the view out my window, so beautiful:

I'm gonna go enjoy. There isn't a much better noise than the sound of rushing water.

I drove through Forest Park in St. Louis last week, and it was devastating to see the trees down. I heard that 30% of the trees in that park (there were 47,000) are down or severely damaged. If you have any ability to donate to Forest Park Forever to help them heal the park, that would be appreciated.

If that feels too impersonal, our goal at Racing For Sustainability is to do our part to get the running world to prioritize sustainability and climate. You can support us to help us build towards our goal of creating a place where runners can find sustainable races near them.

Things I shared on my social media over the last few days:

“Nature and truth are one, and immutable, and inseparable as beauty and love.”

Thanks to our partner, AG1

You better believe my AG1 is here with me on this trip! I love that the travel packs are in a much more convenient package now (the squares were not my fave!).

AG1ʼs Next Gen is now one of the most clinically backed greens powders. They went above & beyond the industry standard in testing, and have made a great product even better! I have been enjoying my AG1 for almost six years now, and I truly can't imagine my life without it. Especially in periods like this when I am traveling, it fills in the nutrient gaps, so no matter what I eat, I know I am taking care of my body.

If you use my link, you’ll also get a FREE bottle of AG D3K2, an AG1 Welcome Kit, AND 5 of the upgraded AG1 travel packs with your first order.

Hi Reader, Earlier this year you applied to be one of our five runners representing Racing For Sustainability in 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. While you were not one of the five, we did find out we have even more bibs for next year, so if Chicago is the race you really want, be sure to look out for those next year! That said, we do have some bibs for the Big Sur Marathon next year, and we wanted to give you first dibs to apply. We will liekly have less sign ups than for Chicago, your...

Like anything else I have ever done before. I write this to you on my rest day for the week, something I was adamant I wanted my 37-year-old body to have throughout this training build for my first 100k, Ultra Trail Cape Town, at the end of November. I sit here having done nothing but gentle easy runs since Saturday. No workouts, no mid-week faster runs, no minimum miles for the days, just whatever feels right. That works well for someone who runs by feel, but I am also a Type A human being...

You hear that moving is one of the most stressful life experiences, but then when you think it through in your head, how bad can it be? You pack up stuff, you move it to a truck or a pod (or have someone do it for you), you make a few tweaks on websites to change your address, you get to another location and unpack it all. Okay, yeah, even simplifying it like that, that's still a lot. But woof, every time we do this (and we have been on a five-year rotation for a while now, hopefully this is...
